What to bring when you come for a hunting visit
We recommend that you consult your physician with regards to appropriate malaria medication. Situated at 24 degrees southern latitude, Chimoyo Game Ranch falls just below the Tropic of Capricorn and at an average altitude of approximately 550 meters above sea level the climate is decidedly sub-tropical. More than eighty percent of the annual rainfall of 550mm occurs during the months of October to April which is the also the higher malaria risk period. Fortunately most hunting is conducted in the cooler months of May through to September when the malaria risk is low. During the winter months (May-Aug), overnight temperatures (measured in centigrade) can reach single digit proportions whilst same day maximums can be in the high twenties. Please pack suitable clothing for both extremes.
