One hundred and twenty years ago, this area posed the last wild and uninhabited frontier in South Africa where the big five still roamed free and in numbers. This is also where hundreds of hunters, gold diggers, transporters and fortune seekers met an untimely end, either at the hand of disease, wild animal, or fellow man.

Google_mapChimoyo Game Ranch offers three species of Africa’s Big 5 namely buffalo, leopard, and white rhinoceros. The magnificent and proud sable antelope as well as a wide variety of plains game are also available as part of the annual hunting quota. Twenty two mammalian species as well as several game bird species like guinea fowl and francolin are available for trophy and biltong (venison) hunting purposes
